Sue Banting

As a veteran of search, Sue led the TMT (Technology, Media and Telecommunications) practice at Odgers Berndston for over 12 years. It was at Odgers where she mentored recruiters and researchers, established best practices, structured search methodologies and quality metrics. Sue was also a passionate supporter and user of leadership assessment tools and onboarding programs. She developed some of the firms largest and most complex clients while providing business and candidate development across industries including: TMT, Professional Services, Healthcare, Education, NFP, and Consumer Packaged Goods.  Sue also worked across functions, building her clients' leadership teams in IT, Sales, Human Resources, Marketing, Operations and Finance.

Prior to joining Odgers Berndtson, Sue led Recruiting at Deloitte Consulting where she successfully grew all facets of Professional Services including: Strategy, Change Leadership, Supply Chain, and Business Transformation with a particular focus on the Information Technology Services Practice. She started her recruiting career with firms Queue Systems and Source Services.  Her search experience is complemented by a number of years in technical and sales roles in telecommunications companies including Bell Canada.

Sue holds an Honours B.A., Political Studies from Queen's University; and has stayed involved with her alma mater through the years, sitting on their M.B.A. Advisory Board.

A longtime champion of women in business, Sue has made women’s issues an integral part of her many initiatives, including: creating a Diversity Practice, joining Canadian Women in Communications (CWC) and partnering with young women of the Queen’s MBA program to organize ‘Women in Leadership’ events.

Sue’s pride and joy in this area is the local Senior Women in Technology (SWIT) Networking Association. Co-founded in 2003, this grassroots organization brings together senior women in Technology to network, listen to interesting speakers and engage in professional development.

Sue enjoys being active in her community and has been involved with Sheena's Place and more recently with Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Canada. Sue spent over eight years as a Board Member and 6 years as the Board Chair of Sheena’s Place, supporting their mission to provide hope and support to people with eating disorders.

Sue has 2 girls and enjoys, travel, cycling, yoga and skiing.
